(Wallingford)– Fire Friday morning on the south edge of Wallingford destroyed a building and its contents.
Wallingford Fire Chief Jared Fischer says they were called a little after 6:00 am to 76 Highway 4 south and found the structure fully engulfed. The Estherville Fire Department also responded to the scene and the two departments put out the fire.
No injuries were reported, but Fischer says about $10,000 worth of tools and other items were destroyed. He says the cause of the fire remains under investigation but they believe a wood burning stove may have been the source. Firefighters were on the scene nearly two hours.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, Emmet County 911 and Alliant Energy assisted on the scene.
