A Mention Of Snow In The Forecast Has One Area City Reminding Residents Of Snow Ordinance

November 04, 2025

(Spencer)– The mention of snow in the forecast in coming days has one area city reminding residents of its snow removal ordinances. In Spencer, Police Chief Mark Warburton says vehicles need to be off streets whenever there’s a forecast of two inches or more or two inches or more of snow actually falls…

“There’s no parking from midnight until 7:00 am. So I encourage all parties to download and look up and sign up for the Clay Alert message as well as the Text My Gov. We’re going to be sending out messages at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm the nights of the snow events to try to get, encourage people when they’re just coming home from work or when they just get done with supper to go ahead and make sure their vehicles are off the city streets as well as their neighbors. Failure to do so will result in a 100 dollar citation and/or your vehicle being towed, so it’s definitely worth your time to make sure you sign up for those messages.”

Warburton says snow emergency messages will also be sent out over the city’s new app as well.
