Texas Man Charged In Theft Of Multiple Guns & Ammunition From Storage Units In West Okoboji

October 24, 2025

(Spirit Lake)– A Texas man accused of stealing guns and ammunition from some storage units in West Okoboji is in the Dickinson County Jail. 37-year-old Iann Fletcher of Beaumont, Texas, is being held on two counts of burglary in the third degree, Class D felonies.

A criminal complaint filed by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office alleges Fletcher cut padlocks off several storage units and stole numerous firearms, including a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a .357 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, a tote with shotgun and rifle shells, an American Arms 10 gauge double barrel shotgun, a Stevens 12 gauge double barrel shotgun and a Remington .22 caliber rifle.

The complaint alleges that Fletcher took the guns and ammunition to Omaha where he sold them to a confidential informant with the Omaha Police Department while under surveillance, and that he bragged about stealing the guns from storage units in Iowa.

Fletcher was extradited to Texas where he was wanted on a warrant while charges were pending against him in Omaha. He since has been extradited back to Omaha and Thursday was booked into the Dickinson county jail on the local charges connected to the burglaries here that took place back in July of this year. He’s being held on a $15,000 bond. Fletcher is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges November 10th in Dickinson County District Court.
