Howlin’ Halloween Hike Coming Up At Kenue Park

October 16, 2025

(Okoboji)– Howlin’ Halloween Hike will be the theme of Family Nature Night at the Dickinson County Nature Center. The event will be held Friday, October 24th from 5:00 until 6:30 pm. Community Relations Coordinator Amy Heibult explains what you can expect...

“We have kind of a fun twist on Family Nature Night and our Howlin’ Halloween. We have the boo-tanical hike where families can come out and hike through Kenue Park and check out some skits that are actually performed by volunteers about some of these freaky and kind of weird but cool plants that can be found here in Iowa as well as the world.”

Heibult says they will also have activities going on before and after the hike...

“We’ll have activities where families can also do a scavenger hunt. They can also paint their own flowerpot to take home and then they’ll also get a temporary bat tattoo if they want one. So kind of a fun twist on our Howlin’ Halloween and it’s gonna be a fun time out in Kenue Park to enjoy the crisp fall air.”

Pre-registration is required for the event. You can do that at dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com
