(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors Tuesday set a date for a bid letting to replace a bridge on 260th Street, or County Road A-43, over the Little Sioux River east of the Little Sioux Church. The existing bridge was heavily damaged in last year’s flood and has been closed ever since. County Engineer Jeff Rose says the construction could start as soon as late this winter…
“The letting will be on November 12th, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Board of Supervisors meeting, and the road will continue to be closed to through traffic during construction. The project’s late start date will be April 1st, 2026 for a total of 120 working days. Winter work will be allowed in the winter of 2025-’26. No working days will be charged between November 1st, 2025 and April 1st, 2026.”
Rose says it will consist of a complete replacement of the bridge. He says they’re still waiting to hear from FEMA on funding for the project, but he says they wanted to get things put into place now to try to move it along.
