September 24, 2025

(Des Moines)– Officials are accepting pre-applications for certain water quality projects as part of Iowa’s Nutrient Reduction Strategy.

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship announced that pre-applications are for cost-share grants to support urban conservation and water quality projects.

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig says Iowans all share a responsibility to protect the state’s soil and water, and that the grants help communities of all sizes.

Pre-applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on November 21st. Stakeholders will be notified by December 19th if they are invited to submit a full application, which is due by February 13th, 2026.
