(Spencer)– It’s another special day today (Wed.) at the Clay County Fair Powered by SMU. Fair General Manager Jason Brockshus says it’s a day to recognize those with disabilities as well as first responders…
“An awesome vintage car, cop car and vintage fire truck display as well as some first responder vehicles in Central Park of the fair today. And all first responders get on the fairgrounds our treat today. So if you’re a first responder and have identification to prove that, join us today. Actually if you just talk to those folks at the desk and say I’m a nurse or I’m a paramedic or I’m a dispatcher or work in police or law enforcement, we’re going to let you in as an individual on the grounds today to join us.”
Brockshus says it’s a special way to say thank you to those folks…
“A lot of our EMT services, a lot of those folks are here because they love their fair and they want to be. As a fair we’re a non-profit. If we had to pay all those individuals the fair rate we would be able to keep our fair staff and fair attendees as safe as we want to. So we really, truly want to appreciate all those volunteers, so give them a shout out and say thanks to them as you’re walking around the Clay County Fair today.”
Tonight’s (Wed.) featured grandstand entertainment is Bulls and Broncs…
“If you’ve been to a concert before, this bull riding, bronc riding, is going to be where that pit area is front of the stage, so you’ll be right on top of it. I think it’s going to be a great show and a great day. The weather’s going to be awesome so come out and join us at Bulls and Broncs.”
A drone show will follow tonight’s (Wed.) show…
“We worked with Sky Elements out of Texas. They’ve been on America’s Got Talent. Those images are tailor made to our fair. We had a say in those and what we wanted so our marketing team worked with that, put together an awesome sound track. That will go right about 9:30 after that last bull bucks and you’ll be able to see that from the grandstands, from the fairgrounds.”
The 2025 Clay County Fair Powered by SMU is entering it’s home stretch with Sunday being the final day.
