Okoboji High School Recognized For High FAFSA Completion Rate

September 05, 2025

(Milford)– Okoboji High School has been recognized by the Iowa Department of Education as a FAFSA-Focused School of Excellence for the 2024-25 academic year. The distinction honors schools where 70 percent or more of graduating seniors completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

Out of 28 Iowa high schools awarded the honor, Okoboji High School exceeded the statewide average of 52 percent, posting the highest completion rate among all public high schools in its AEA, ranking within the top nine percent statewide.

In a press release, Okoboji High School Principal Brian Downing credits the dedication and hard work of Mary Prososki, Okoboji High school’s College and Career Transition Counselor, saying “her leadership was a key driver behind Okoboji’s outstanding completion rate.”
