(Sheldon)– One person was injured Thursday in a collision involving a semi and a pickup in O’Brien county.
The Iowa State Patrol says 21-year-old Jonathan Van Meeterern of George was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram and 51-year-old Leonardo Hernandez of Hialeah, Florida was driving a 2019 Peterbilt semi. Troopers say the two collided at the intersection of Northwest Boulevard and the southbound lanes of Highway 60 in Sheldon. The pickup then caught on fire. Van Meeteren was taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital.
The collision took place a little before 2:30 pm.
