(Estherville)– The city of Estherville is applying for a Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant that would help fund upgrades for outdoor warning sirens. City Administrator Penny Clayton says the project has a total price tag of $124,526…
“The local match requirement is $18,678.85. That would be 15 percent of the overall cost of the project. We do have those monies budgeted for this purpose. We actually had them budgeted last year as well. They went unspent because the grant did not get approved last year but we do believe it will get approved this year.”
The city council earlier this week authorized city staff to sign off on the grant application.
