(Spirit Lake)– Heavy thunderstorms early this (Monday) morning brought torrential rain, gusty wind and hail to the Iowa Great Lakes. 3.55 inches of rain fell at the KUOO studios. 4.5 inches was reported in Lake Park.
Street flooding was reported in Spirit Lake. Authorities say the water has since receded as of 7:30 am as the rain has moved out of the area. Gusty wind also brought down some tree limbs in some areas.
The National Weather Service says thankfully, no additional rain is in the forecast over the next couple of days.
