(Spirit Lake)– A Le Mars woman was injured when a car collided with a motorcycle she was driving late Monday morning on the east side of East Lake Okoboji.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Kimberly Vande Vegte of Le Mars was driving a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on County Road M-56 and was waiting for oncoming traffic to make a left turn into Acorn Ridge. Deputies say 18-year-old Kyra Brevik of Arnolds Park was also northbound, driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu when she failed to stop within an assured clear distance and collided with the rear of the motorcycle.
Vande Vegte was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with non-incapacitating injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office says the collision remains under investigation.
