(Spirit Lake)– A collision Monday at the intersection of Highway 71 and 34th Street in Spirit Lake sent several people to the hospital.
An accident report from the Spirit Lake Police Department says 22-year-old Carter Wallerich of Plainview, Minnesota, was driving a 2023 GMC pickup pulling a trailer loaded with a boat northbound. The report says 17-year-old Gracie Stoltenberg of Jackson was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox southbound and was attempting to turn onto 34th Street when she pulled into the path of the pickup and trailer driven by Wallerich. The trailer and boat came to rest against a stoplight pole.
Stoltenberg and two passengers in her vehicle, Jessica Remme and Dawn Stoltenberg, both of Jackson, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with non-incapacitating injuries. Wallerich wasn’t injured.
Gracie Stoltenberg was cited for failure to yield.
The collision took place shortly before 1:00 pm.
