(Lakefield, Mn.)– This year’s corn crop could be a bin buster. Jim Nesseth of Extended Ag Services in Lakefield says conditions across a large part of the region continue to be ideal, with good size ears that are filling out nicely…
“A lot of times guys are going out there now and counting kernels and ear size and things like that and they come up with some pretty good yields but I’ve always got to caution people on that. A lot of times you usually over-estimate that. But I’m sure we’re going to see a lot of field averages if we don’t have any problem from here on out where we’re going to be over that 200 bushel, probably some significant numbers higher than that.”
Nesseth says outstanding yield potentials are also in place for soybeans across a good deal of the region.
