(Okoboji) It’s a project that the Pearson Lakes Art Center has been working on for over a year and their new sculpture trail will open on Thursday. Marketing Director Karess Knudtson explains what will be going on during the unveiling.
“People can come and we’re going to do a ribbon cutting for the new part of the trail. There’ll be refreshments and we’re going to have a champagne toast and there’s a couple of artists there from the 7 that have sculptures involved and you’ll be able to meet them and chat with them and it’s really looking to be quite a fun evening. We’re pretty excited about it.”
Knudtson encourages people to venture on to their sculpture trail loop.
“Our loop is about a ½ a mile and people can just either park at the art center or they can park in the little parking lot that is just north of us and enjoy our loop as well as the rest of the trails it joins up to.”
Knudtson talks about what the Pearson Lakes Art Center plans to do with this trail in the future.
“We have added 7 sculptures to it. The sculptures will be there for a year and then we will rotate those 7 sculptures out every year. So that will really be a fun and unique aspect to this part of our outside campus. These 7 sculptures are now added to our sculpture trail of about 20 permanent sculptures so not only can people come and look at these new ones but they can come and walk around our grounds and look at our 20 permanent ones as well.
The grand opening for the new sculpture trail is this Thursday from 5 to 7 at the Pearson Lakes Art Center. They invite everyone to come and enjoy the new sculpture trail.
