(Jackson, Mn.)– A collision last week involving a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Highway 71 and Bailey Street in Jackson claimed a life.
Authorities say 48-year-old Jason Mekosch of Jackson was driving a 1991 Harley Davidson and was attempting to pass another vehicle while it was turning. The motorcycle made contact with the vehicle and then collided with a light pole.
Mekosch was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries. The driver of the car wasn’t injured. Authorities say Mekosch wasn’t wearing a helmet.
