Livestock, Static Exhibit Numbers Are Strong For This Year’s Dickinson County Fair

July 18, 2025

(Spirit Lake)– There will be plenty to see at this year’s Dickinson County Fair. 4-H Youth Coordinator Fallon Jensen says the numbers in both livestock and static exhibits are strong…

“So our static this year, I know I was just looking at some of our numbers. We’ve got like 130 photography and 82 visual arts, so we’ve got a lot of static that’s going to be coming in this year. We’ve got quite a few bucket of junk and then our bucket of blooms where kids will be bringing in their buckets of flowers that they’ve been working on all year. Livestock, we’ve got a good amounts of swine; we’ve got 68 sheep that hopefully will be coming in; around 20 to 30 goats and then we have a good group of horse kids this year, and obviously beef always does very well. So we’ve got quite a few beef as well. So we are very excited to see all of our wonderful projects.”

The Dickinson County Fair starts Saturday at the fairgrounds in Spirit Lake. Events for the first day include the rabbit and poultry show; food trucks, family night activities, the open jackpot barrel race, coronation of the Fair Queen and a ventriloquist.

The Dickinson County Fair concludes this coming Thursday, July 24th with a breakfast and the annual livestock auction.
