(Okoboji)– Some changes are being made to an upcoming street project in Okoboji. The city council last week voted to revise the plans for the Morningside Drive project, switching from an asphalt overlay to full depth concrete pavement. City officials say there are several benefits with the concrete, including increased longevity. They add that even with the revision, the estimated cost should still come in under the $160,000 that was budgeted for the project.
They also plan to offer an option to potential bidders, giving them an option to either do the project yet this fall or to start in the spring. They say offering the spring start date option could bring more favorable bids.
