(Arnolds Park)– The University of Okoboji Homecoming Races will be held this coming weekend. Morgan Strauss of the Iowa Great Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce says the races will take place this Saturday, July 19th…
“We have a triathlon, team triathlon, 10K, half marathon, and a 5K going on that weekend, so we’re really, really excited with those races. If you’re in the triathlon, kicking off at 7:00 am and all the other races starting at 8:00 am. Get registered, there really is something for the whole family. Whether you want to bring a dog or a stroller that 5K is a perfect spot for you. Challenge your inner athlete and get the 10K or half marathon, and then to really cross off that bucket list, the triathlon.”
She says the event typically draws participants from 25 states…
“Our registration is sitting right at about a thousand and last year we were at 1,200 so we’re really hoping to get that close, too.”
Strauss says there’s still time to get registered…
“I would recommend though getting that registration through earlier the better because we do go through bib numbers and get all that set up so. We did do another shirt order so hopefully we can get that for you as well.”

The U of O Homecoming Races have been an annual event since 1978.
