MCW School Board Accepts Bids for New School

July 10, 2025

(Sherburn) The Martin County West School Board met in special session on Tuesday morning to approve the bids for the new school. The district broke ground back in May and now Superintendent Cori Reynolds says work will commence in the next few weeks.

“Most of the big ones and definitely the ones that need to start right away which is earth work have now been awarded.  So, we’re working on getting the contracts signed with all those people now and I think within a few weeks, not even months anymore, just a few weeks people are going to start to see things start happening there.”

Reynolds says she is excited that the project is finally at this point in the process.

“I’ve loved the process so far and I’m really excited for this next phase where everybody else can see the fruits of all the hard work we’ve been doing here sort of behind the scenes for the last year.”

Reynolds says the community will be able to easily follow the progress.

“Our engineering firm ISG has put together a website. It’s linked at the school district website so martin.k12.mn.us. You scroll down and you’ll see new building updates and a link and it will take you to the website where all the construction updates will be posted.”

The new school is projected to open for the 2027-28 school year.
