(Terril)– An Estherville man was seriously injured Monday when a bicycle he was riding was struck by a car near the intersection of County Roads N-14 and A-34 just north of Terril.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Riley Jackson of Terril was driving a 2010 Ford Focus southbound and was passing a bicycle ridden by 82-year-old Larry Anderson of Estherville. Authorities say the vehicle and bicyclist sideswiped in the same direction, causing Anderson to lose control of the bicycle, which crashed.
Anderson was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare and was transferred by air to another hospital.
The collision took place a little after 3:00 pm Monday. The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says it remains under investigation.
Dickinson County Emergency Management, the Lakes Regional Health Ambulance, Milford police and Terril Fire and Rescue assisted on the scene.
