(Clear Lake)– The body of a northwest Iowa fisherman has been pulled from Clear Lake.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources identifies him as 54-year-old Dennis Blume of Fonda. The DNR says Blume’s body was located around 5:30 pm Thursday following an extensive search that started after authorities received a call earlier in the afternoon about an unoccupied fishing boat that was circling on Clear Lake. Witnesses who reported the boat were able to stop it. Several belongings of the victim were found on the boat.
Emergency personnel then conducted a search. Blume’s body was located by the Clear Lake Fire Department through the assistance of some underwater drone technology. The DNR says the incident remains under investigation.
