(Spirit Lake) Dickinson County Nature Center will be holding their Family Nature Night on Friday June 27th from 5:00 to 6:00 and Dickinson County Communications Coordinator Amy Heibult talks about the theme which is backyard birds.
“We’ll be learning about beak adaptations. Families can make their own bird feeders to take home with them and then we also have a few other fun stations where families can play a board game called migration frustration and there will also be a hike outside to identify some birds out there.”
On Saturday June 28th the Nature Center is partnering with Kindermusick at the Lakes to bring you Picnic in the Park. Heibult gives an overview of what to expect.
“There will be some stations set up so families will go through a storybook walk and then they will also have a station for kinder musick so they’ll move and groove to kind of nature’s rhythm and then we will also have an animal encounter so one of our live animals from the Nature Center will be there and families can learn about animal pelts and animal calls and then after all the activity we’ll be enjoying a picnic so families be sure to pack your own picnic and a blanket to sit on and you can enjoy a relaxing time under our our oak tree canopy over in the green space.”
Pre-registration is required for both events. You can go to dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com for more information and to register.
