Milford City Council Adopts Revision To ATV/UTV Ordinance

May 28, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– A change is coming to an ordinance pertaining to the operation of all terrain vehicles and utility vehicles in Milford. Mayor Steve Anderson says it does away with a flag requirement…

“We’ve had an ATV-UTV ordinance on the books awhile. One of the requirements was to have a orange flag like you see on mopeds that had to be five feet off the ground. We removed that from our ordinance just basically to match up with the state ordinance and state requirements are so that it’s uniform and there’s no question. It just gets rid of the confusion.”

Anderson cautions that the current flag requirement remains in place until the ordinance goes into effect once it’s published. That’s expected to happen late next week.

The council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to approved the first and subsequent 2nd and 3rd readings and granted formal adoption to the revision. It followed a public hearing that drew no verbal or written comments.
