(Jackson, Mn.)– City officials in Jackson say several of that town’s sirens are currently not operational. Emergency Manager Grant Landbo says they found that out during testing back on April 10th. He says a siren at Westridge Drive is going to be replaced completely in coming months.
Landbo says a vendor will be sending out a crew to look at the other malfunctioning sirens, including one near the hospital, and that additional testing will then take place.
He reminds everyone the sirens are intended strictly as an outdoor warning system.
