Congressman Randy Feenstra Visits Storm Lake & Spencer

(Storm Lake)– 4th District Congressman Randy Feenstra was in Storm Lake Tuesday to get a first-hand look at some of the damage from last Friday’s storm. Feenstra stopped at Merrill Manufacturing, and met with company representatives as well as city and county officials, and said he’s impressed with how the community has come together…

“Obviously there’s still a lot of damage that is going to have to be worked on. Obviously you know right here at Merrill and you Dollar General and you have La Vita that won’t be open for awhile and that’s a hardship on the community. But you have the whole community working together to get everything cleaned up. I give kudos to all the volunteers that have done that.”

The state isn’t expected to pursue a presidential disaster declaration for Buena Vista County, but Feenstra said he’ll do what he can to help.

Feenstra was also in Spencer Tuesday where he heard from business owners severely impacted by last year’s flood. They expressed frustration over not being reimbursed yet by FEMA.
