April 21, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(Jackson, Mn.)– A program Tuesday evening (April 22nd) at Jackson County Central High School will address mental health and substance abuse among young people along with the legalization of recreational cannabis in Minnesota. Emma Thaemlitz is the coordinator of Positive Actions Toward Health, or PATH. She says it will begin at 5:00 pm in the auditorium at Jackson County Central High School with some informational displays…

“At 6:00 pm we’ll have our guest speaker which is Randy and Heather Bacchus from Be Extraordinary, Be You. They lost their son to cannabis-induced psychosis and suicide. They will be sharing their story with us. And to follow their story we will have a panel consisting of the Jackson County Police Department, Agape Health, Aliva Care, and a representative from public health.”

Thaemlitz says the event is free and will will include a question-and-answer session. She adds the program will be livestreamed at the PATH Facebook page.

Thaemlitz says they will also be holding a program specially tailored for middle school and high school age students Tuesday morning at the JCC schools.
