If you saw the Stone Cottage moving across town from Spirit Lake to Milford this week its because TOPOG is expanding. Kelcey Morrison and her husband Jeremy have always wanted to expand…
“We just always kind of had our eyes open to where that opportunity might be and we were really fortunate to have a great partner come along and get to work with them on this expansion and its the Kinnetz Family Office and the Spirit of Okoboji. They really want to reinvest in the area and one of the ways they are doing that is investing in businesses and so they’re developing this area out by Grape Tree and asked us if we would ever want to be out in that area and through some prayer we knew that’s exactly where we should be.”
Morrison talks about why they chose to use the Stone Cottage for their new location…
“When we thought about having our second location we didn’t want it to look like a box, we didn’t want it to be you know just plain. We wanted it to be something that represents the area and represents our business TOPOG and when the group over there asked the Kinnetz Family office and approached us about that being the building we were so excited and its a place that we spent time in when it was the Okoboji Common Tasting room. Just loved everything they did with it and just knew that it was a special place that would make the most perfect second TOPOG location.
Morrison says a lot needs to happen before the new location can open…
“There’s lots of variables right now, not exactly sure, pressing as fast as we can. Right now they are going to put a basement so we are waiting for a basement to be created and its going to go underneath that whole building and then they’re going to set that down and then we can do the final steps of getting it ready to be open. You know we’re hoping for early June but you know a lot to be decided before that date is released.”
The new location will be off Highway 86 north by the Grape Tree Medical building in Milford. TOPOG will offer a drive thru, indoor seating and an outdoor patio in the new location.
