(Undated)– What could be a highly impactful winter storm is threatening the region. A blizzard warning has been issued for all of northwest Iowa and a good deal of southwest Minnesota from 4:00 am until 7:00 pm Wednesday. A high wind warning will also be in effect.
Forecasters say 6 to 10 inches of snow could fall with some isolated amounts of up to a foot possible along with wind that could gust in excess of 60 mph during the day Wednesday. The National Weather Service says that will result in blizzard and whiteout conditions, making travel extremely hazardous if not impossible.
Forecasters say this could be one of the more significant winter storms we’ve seen in recent years.
