Traffic Stop Results In Arrest Of Emmetsburg Man On Multiple Drug Charges

(Spencer)– A traffic stop in the 3400 mile of Highway 18 in Clay county this past Sunday evening resulted in the arrest of an Emmetsburg man on multiple drug charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle as he approached it. Authorities say upon questioning, the driver, 61-year-old Luke Hunefeld of Emmetsburg, turned over a marijuana pipe to the deputy, who also found a baggie of marijuana in a pocket. A search turned up methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Hunefeld was arrested and booked into the Clay county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
