Woman Arrested On Multiple Child Endangerment Charges

March 09, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(Inwood)– A woman has been arrested on multiple counts of child endangerment in connection with some incidents at a northwest Iowa Daycare Center.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says Elizabeth Kainrath of Inwood was taken into custody Saturday. Authorities say the charges are the result of an investigation into reports of abusive behavior at Kingdom Kids Daycare in Inwood. They say they were notified Friday, March 7th, of the reports and conducted a joint investigation with daycare staff and the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services. The Sheriff’s Office says they were able to identify 14 different incidents in about an hour and 15 minutes in which Kainrath acted in an aggressive, inappropriate manner with about five different children.

Kainrath was arrested without incident on 13 aggravated misdemeanor counts of child endangerment and one class D felony count of child endangerment. She’s being held in the Lyon county jail on a $31,000 cash or surety bond.
