(Undated)– Yet another winter storm will impact the region tonight (Thurs) into Friday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Buena Vista, Cherokee, O’Brien, Plymouth Pocahontas and Sioux counties from 6:00 pm this (Thurs.) evening until 6:00 pm Friday. Forecasters say 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected in those locations, with some isolated amounts of up to 6 inches possible. For the Iowa Great Lakes, only a dusting to maybe an inch of snow is expected.
Forecasters add unlike the last system, the wind will NOT be a factor this time around and blizzard conditions are NOT expected. The snowfall, however, will likely cause slick road conditions. Those planning to travel into the area under the winter weather advisory should plan ahead and allow extra time to reach their destination tonight (Thurs.) into Friday.
