(Spencer)– Some longtime volunteers and employees were honored during the Clay County Fair Association’s annual meeting earlier this week. 45 people were presented “Fairs of Service” awards, collectively representing 520 years of service to the Clay County Fair. Three of them, Jeff Ginger, Donna Krogman and Roger Rustard, were honored for 40 years of service.
Recognition was also given to retiring board members Kate Rinehart and Teresa Schoelerman along with longtime Grandstand Guest Services Superintendent Michael Bryan for his 30 years of service.
Nine members were elected to the Fair’s 27-member Board of Directors, each serving a three-year term. Greg Lear will serve as Chairman; John Zinn as Vice Chair and Joel Stave as Treasurer.
The Clay County Fair Association continues to accept new members. Membership is open year-round for a one-time fee of $100.
