(Spencer)– City officials in Spencer say they’re keeping a close eye on what’s going on in Washington, D.C with the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. More specifically, City Manager Kevin Robinson says they’re concerned over any possible impacts to FEMA and how it could affect flood recovery efforts…
“We’ve been in contact with Senator Ernst’s office as well as the state level for the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Relief funding. It’s unknown at this point if any of those initiatives will impact us. We’re hopeful that they do not. We’ve been advised that the state and federal level officials don’t think we’ll be impacted, but just wanted to let you know that we are in discussions and keeping an eye on that.”
Robinson briefed the city council on the concerns at their meeting Monday evening.
