(Spirit Lake)– Lakes Regional Healthcare has been named among the Top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals in the U.S. LRH President and CEO Jason Harrington says the designation is through The Chartis Center for Rural Health…
“They do a report every year about the condition of rural healthcare hospitals that are at risk and that sort of thing. They also then have, obviously a quality award, and it’s beyond quality. They have a number of data, and most of this data is publicly available, really ranking hospitals on quality, on safety, on health outcomes. That’s really the metric that they use. They get that information that’s publicly available through the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. So that’s what they use as their basis to determine their Top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals. They also have the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals, but very, very much rural focused.”
Harrington says the fact Lakes Regional Healthcare has made that list consistently speaks volumes of their staff…
“You know I say all the time, probably daily, about healthcare being a team sport and, you know, team sports require everyone in a lot of different positions to be successful. We’re really just extremely fortunate here to have a great team from our housekeeping team to our medical staff to our nursing staff, to our lab staff and everyone in between that. Just very blessed and I hope that the community and I know that they are appreciative of the wonderful team they have in Lakes Regional Healthcare.”
This is the seventh consecutive year LRH has made the Top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals list.
