(Spencer)– The Spencer Chamber of Commerce holds its 40th annual Ag Outlook this coming Tuesday, February 18th, at the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer. Spokesman Blake Goss says this year’s event will once again feature several keynote speakers…
“So at 9:30 we’ll start off with Matt Campbell providing grain market hot spots. This is the sixth straight year he’s been with us. He’s always requested from attendees to come back so we lock him in. As soon as he finishes his first presentation we lock him in for the next year. And then at 12:30 we have Ernie Goss coming. He’s from Creighton University and he’s providing an economic outlook. Just a wealth of knowledge that this gentleman has. At 12:00 pm we’ll recognize a local FFA chapter. We really pride ourselves on trying to get the FFA involved. They are our future in farming. Many schools are able to attend. They use that as a field trip, per say. They get to meet up with the different vendors. At 2:30 we’ll wrap it up with Trent Loos and he’ll be speaking on domestic food and fuel for our freedom, and he’s out of Nebraska as well.”
Goss says they’ll also be giving away some prizes at the end of the day…
“At 4:00 pm, you’ve got to be present to win, but we’ll do a grand prize drawing and this year it’s a $500 gift card to Kwik Star. Thank you Kwik Star for providing that. And then Bomgaars have donated a Pit Boss griddle, a two burner griddle. Once the weather warms back up you’ll have a chance to grill a steak on that griddle or whatever you desire.”
Tuesday’s Ag Expo is free to attend thanks to a number of sponsors, and pre-registration isn’t necessary. More information can be found at ag expo-dot-com or at the Spencer Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
