Utilities Urging Customers To Take Measures To Prevent Frozen Pipes

February 13, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– Area utilities are urging water customers to take some preventive measures to prevent frozen pipes in the extreme cold. They say it’s a good idea to run a faucet at a trickle, or the size of a pencil lead.

In addition, you can also leave cupboard doors open under your sink, especially if it’s against an outside wall.

While temperatures will warm into the 20’s Friday, forecasters say the reprieve from the arctic air won’t last long as frigid conditions return for the weekend and well into next week. High temperatures will struggle to get above zero with overnight lows at times that could get close to 20 degrees below zero.
