(Spirit Lake)– It took until February for it to happen, but it appears the first significant snowfall of the season may finally be here.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the region, including the Iowa Great Lakes, from 8:00 am this (Mon.) morning until 9:00 pm this (Mon.) evening. Forecasters say 2 to 5 inches of snowfall can be expected. Motorists are being told to expect slippery conditions and to allow some extra time if traveling later today (Mon.) into this (Mon.) evening.
Temperatures will also be well below normal through the week, with additional chances of measurable snowfall Wednesday and again Friday and into the upcoming weekend.
