(Ruthven)– A northwest Iowa nursing home has been approved as a Veterans Affairs approved facility.
The Ruthven Community Care Center has received the designation in a partnership with the Veterans Affairs Office in Sioux Falls. The designation is subject to renewal every five years. The status is based on several factors including site assessments and CMS scores, record keeping, and a number of other areas.
Ryan Sikora, Administrator of the Ruthven Community Care Center, says they hope to begin accepting VA benefits within the next couple of weeks. He says it speaks volumes of their patient satisfaction surveys and above-average inspection results.
Sikora says receiving the V-A designation was about a year-long process.
