IGL Fishing Club Holding Its Spring Seminar

February 06, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(West Okoboji)– The Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club holds its annual spring seminar this (Thurs.) evening. Club member Dean Jacobsen says this year’s event is being held at a new location…

“We’re expecting a bigger crowd so we did move our spring seminar from the Hap Kettleson Center in Everly where it’s been in the past, moving it to Oak Hill Outdoor up in Milford because they have a lot higher capacity for us. We’re expecting over 200 people this year. Oak Hill has been very gracious in allowing us to have our event there. The doors open at 5:00 pm on the 6th. Meal starts at 6:00. We’ll have in that period of time lots of raffle tickets for sale. Talked about our three live auction items we’ve got this year and we’re really excited to have Jason Mitchell back again. He was with us about eight or 10 years ago and he’s become much more popular since then so we’re really excited to have him back.”

Club member Paul Daniels says the event is free for club members and $10 for non-members. He says memberships will also be available for sale for $25 each and will be available at the door this (Thurs.) evening…

“That money also goes to so many of the projects that we do. We do events that help out hundreds and hundreds of kids each year, well over 700, 800, some years, and then we also give away rod and reel combos and nice tackle boxes to almost every kid that we have at an event, so that membership helps not only just you, but it also helps the club out.”
