(Spirit Lake)– We need to make you aware of a scam that hits very close to home. We have learned that someone is making calls to local residents and the caller ID shows the KUOO-Q102 radio station phone number. The person on the other end of the line claims to be a DJ with fake call letters, announcing you are the winner of a cruise vacation. It’s a scam. They are using technology to “spoof” the KUOO/Q102 office phone number. If you receive such a call, do NOT give any personal information and hang up. Neither radio station is currently giving away any vacations or trips.
