(Spirit Lake)– A DUI charge against Mike Martens, the former Emmet County Sheriff, has been dismissed in Dickinson County District Court.
Martens was arrested at the Marble Beach Campground June 8th of last year after a DNR enforcement officer pulled over a side-by-side Martens was operating.
The assistant Dickinson County Attorney filed court documents January 17th stating there was insufficient criminal evidence for a jury to make a conviction in the case, and that DUI test results were within the margin of error.
Martens was Emmet County Sheriff for some 40 years. He did not seek re-election this past November.
