Travel Official: Roads Will Remain Busy As We Head Into The New Year’s Holiday

(Undated)– The roads will continue to be busy across the Midwest between now and New Year’s. Brian Ortner with Triple-A says nine-point-one-million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more for the holidays in the Midwest region…

“We’re looking to see this coming Friday be another busy day for folks coming home from the Christmas holiday and those who are leaving for the New Years holiday. So we’re kind of in the middle of it as we sit today.”

Ortner says one of the peak travel times will actually be later today (Fri.)…

“Maybe leaving that Friday evening or hop in the plane that Friday evening, so between 3:00 and 7:00 look to be the busiest time as we go into that New Year’s week.”
