Mayor Of Spencer Reflects On What Happened Six Months Ago

December 26, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– The Mayor of Spencer took a few minutes at a recent city council meeting to reflect on what happened in that community six months ago. Steve Bomgaars says the June flood made 2024 the most trying year in the history of that city…

“The people of Spencer have been remarkable in their resilience and response to incredible adversity. I believe that how you respond to adversity is really the true test of character, and I think that our community has passed that test. And I want to personally thank our incredible department heads, our city staff, our city council, for their amazing work this past six months to help with the recovery and keep city services moving forward. And I want to thank our nonprofits and our business community for working together to help all of our citizens. And most of all I want to thank the people of Spencer. Their efforts and patience has been nothing less than admirable as they push forward.”

Bomgaars concluded his statement by saying that despite the devastation, there’s still a lot to be thankful for.
