(Spencer)– No injuries were reported in a kitchen fire late Monday afternoon in Spencer.
Spencer Fire-Rescue says crews were called a little before 5:00 pm to 1710 4th Avenue West. Firefighters entered the back door of the residence and located the fire in the kitchen on the stove and quickly extinguished it. Crews remained on the scene to check for any possible extension into the wall and to ventilate smoke.
Light fire damage and moderate smoke damage was reported to the kitchen.
Authorities say it serves as a reminder not to leave the kitchen while cooking.
Firefighters were on the scene a little more than a half hour.
