(Spirit Lake)– Get the snow shovels and maybe even that snowblower handy. The National Weather Service says a system impacting the region today (Tues.) into this (Tues.) evening could drop several inches of snow on portions of northwest Iowa. Upwards of four inches could be possible in portions of southwest Minnesota. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 9:00 pm this (Tues.) for Cottonwood, Jackson, Murray and Nobles counties.
Travelers should plan accordingly and allow for some extra time to reach their destinations.
Forecasters say no wind is expected, so blowing and drifting snow won’t be an issue.
Colder temperatures will arrive behind the system with another chance for snowfall Thursday. As of now, forecasters say amounts with that system should be very insignificant.
