Teen Escapes Serious Injury In Single Vehicle Crash

(Spencer)– An Everly teen escaped serious injury in a single vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Clay county.

The Sheriff’s Office says a 15-year-old male lost control of a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 while traveling northbound in the 3500 mile of 240th Avenue. The vehicle then flipped, coming to rest on its driver’s side.

The teen was taken to Spencer Hospital to be checked over and was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license and failure to maintain control.

About $5,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.

The crash took place around 10:00 pm. Deputies say the road was ice-covered.
