(Emmetsburg)– A single vehicle crash Sunday in Palo Alto county seriously injured a passenger and resulted in drug charges being filed against the driver.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Jordan Fury of Emmetsburg lost control of a 2003 Ford pickup while traveling westbound on 300th Street near Cylinder. The vehicle struck a field drive, went airborne and rolled once, coming to rest on its wheels in the north ditch.
Fury sustained minor injuries; a passenger was partially ejected and was airlifted from the scene after being extricated.
Fury was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The vehicle was totaled.
Authorities say the crash is still under investigation and that more charges are possible.
