(Undated)– Now’s the time to get that vehicle winterized if you haven’t already done so. Trooper Kevin Krull of the Iowa State Patrol says a little preventive maintenance can go a long way, especially this time of the year…
“We tend to do a lot of tire changing on this weekend and assisting motorists that break down. Watch your gas gauges, make sure you have plenty of gas in your vehicle. This is that time of the year where we remind people to keep the tank above half, it’s just easier to keep it above half at all times, and watch for the hazards on the roadway. There will be a lot of travel going on and we just want to encourage people to be safe out there and enjoy the holidays. Keep them happy.”
Experts also say now is the time to put the ice scrapers, snow brushes, and winter survival kits in your cars, as you never know when you might need them. A car jump starter and jumper cables may not be a bad idea either.
