H-LP School Bd. Approves Quote For Improvements To Some Athletic Facilities

November 25, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Lake Park)– The Harris-Lake Park School Board approved a proposal during a special meeting over the noon hour today (Mon.) for some improvements to athletic facilities. Superintendent Gary Richardson says it involves work at the baseball and softball complexes…

“And it would include new backstop netting at the baseball field and a batting cage area as well as a batting cage at the softball field and we are in need of a new temporary fence. We share that with the city so we have a temporary outfield fence that we use so we were in need of purchasing a new one there as well. We’ll also have a backstop padding wall that will be added at the softball field as well. Those are all things that came about through the bond referendum a year ago, so we’re making progress on that. The hope is that by the first of May this is all completed.”

Richardson says they were pleased with how the costs came in…

“I thought they were what the representative said they would be six months ago so we’re happy to jump on those right now and get this all taken care of.”

The total cost, which includes installation and supplies, came in at $196,347.
